Islamabad- Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf has cancelled its public rally in Bahawalpur. The decision was taken in party’s core-committee meeting held today in Islamabad. The party sources said the recent wave of terrorism and security concerns had prompted the leadership to cancel the demonstration which was scheduled to be held on June 22. Party Chief Imran Khan was due to address the public gathering. Bahawalpur rally was announced by Imran Khan during his address to public gathering in Sialkot earlier this month. PTI has been organizing rallies and sit-in protests over alleged rigging in May-2013 general elections and Bahawalpur demo was also in connection of party strategy to press Election Commission of Pakistan and Nawaz government to probe into the rigging claims.
