Int’l moot on alternate energy ends

Bahawalpur - The three-day International Conference on Renewable and Alternate Energy Resources System concluded here at Islamia University which was arranged in the collaboration with HEC and the Institute of Scientific and Alternate Energy Research of Pakistan.
A number of delegates from the US, Sweden and Pakistan attended the conference and presented thoughtful and practicable papers significant to the topic.
IUB/GSCWU Vice-Chancellor Dr Muhammad Mukhtar presided over the concluding session of the conference and expressed gratitude to local as well as foreign delegates and termed the conference as informative and supportive to overcome the energy crisis for better future.
He said that the research activities at the IUB in various fields were atop with productive results as recently the university had earned second position in the Ministry of Science & Technology’s national ranking among the universities of the country. He expressed the hope that if the current pace of progress in research field continued with the same zeal the university would be in better position to produce Photovoltaic Cell soon.
The foreign delegates, University of Delaware, USA’s Dr Asmatullah Shah, Dr Jushua M Zoid, Linkoping University, Sweden’s Dr Qamarul Wahab, Dr Mikhail, Dr Ejaz Hussain Asghar, American University’s Dr Rizwanuddin and Al-Saud University, Saudi Arabia’s Dr Imran Shakir presented papers and proposals on the occasion while Dean, Faculty of Science, COMSATS, Islamabad, Dr Arshad Bhatti along with foreign delegates appreciated the move of conducting conference in a successful way to highlight the importance of the issue in an effective way for earlier steps.
