KPK Cabinet team visits Thar, provides relief goods

KARACHI- Khyber Pakhtunkhwa delegation headed by Jamaat-i-Islami Senior Minister Siraj-ul-Haq and Yasin Khalil today visited drought-hit Tharparkar district and handed over relief goods worth Rs 100 million to Sindh governments relief supervisor Taj Haider.

The delegation visited District Hospital Mithi, Al-Khidmat facilities and veterinary doctors in the area.  Talking to media, Haq said that the KPK government was standing along with people of Thar in the difficult situation of famine and they would not leave them alone in this testing time. The people-hit by famine would be helped till full rehabilitation, he said. 

Haq said that besides relief goods, an 11-member doctors team was also present in the area which comprised child specialist, including men and women.

He said that it was a shameful moment that despite living in this modern world, we were not able to provide basic facilities to the people. He said: We are not prepared for any disaster as every time we face such situation, we prepare things in a hurry.

He said that the federal government and four provincial governments should consider this issue seriously and devise an strategy in this regard.

Haider thanked KPK government for providing relief goods to the people of Thar. Sindh government will take advantage of experience of KPK officials.

Special Advisor to CM KPK on Relief, Yasin Khalil, President Al-Khidmat Foundation Dr Hafeezur Rehman, JI Sindh Leader Merajul Huda Siddiqui, JI Karachi leader Mohammad Hussain Mehanti were also present on the occasion.
