LAHORE- The Punjab Government has decided to accept the demands of protesting ad-hoc nurses in Lahore.
According to a spokesman of Punjab Health Department in Lahore today‚ the regularization of ad-hoc nurses will be done in two phases. The spokesman said in the first phase‚ the nurses will be given a three- year contract. Earlier on Saturday, nurses protesting against the Health Department were granted three year contracts by the Punjab government. The Nurses were protesting against Health department’s decision og firing those who had been working on ad-hoc basis. In what could be termed a victory, the nurses will be required to pass the public service commission exams at the end of the three year contract to become eligible for a permanent post.
In the event that the nurses under this contract fail to pass PCS exam, their contract will stand dissolved at the end of the three years.
