Key Taliban commander killed in Karachi

KARACHI- A Taliban commander was killed in a shootout with Rangers in Karachi today.
According to sources, the suspect Abid Muchhar, was wanted by law enforcement agencies in many cases of terrorism. The gun battle took place in Manghopir Kanwari Colony, home to many militant groups. It was further stated by the sources, rangers raided Kanwari Colony, where Taliban commanders were holed up. The raid led to the shootout, in which Taliban commander Muhammad Hussain was killed. Muchar, who was also injured, made a failed attempt to escape before being killed. Muchhar was in-charge of a terror network which was operating in Mangho Pir, Kanwari Colony and Pirabad. He was involved in various acts of terrorism, including the killing of police officer Shafiq Tanoli.
