Kabul- Female Afghan lawmaker Shukria Barekzai escaped an attack in capital Kabul today.
A heavy explosion rocked capital Kabul today morning with an aim to assassinate the female lawmaker Shukria Barekzai. The incident took place in Dar-ul-Aman area of Kabul city while the vehicle of MP Barekzai was crossing the area. Preliminary reports suggest that at least four people have been killed and nearly twenty others have been wounded following the blast. In the meantime, Sediq Sediq, spokesman for the Ministry of Interior (MoI) confirmed that three civilians were killed and 17 others were injured following the blast. Earlier reports suggested that MP Barekzai was critically wounded following the blast. However, sources in National Directorate of Security (NDS) hospital said MP Barekzai was in stable condition. No group including the Taliban militants have so far claimed responsibility behind the incident.
