Nisar, Cameron discuss Pak-UK relations, matters of bilateral interests

LONDON: Federal Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan who is currently on official visit of the United Kingdom (UK) held meeting with former British Prime Minister David Cameron in London on Wednesday and exchanged views on Pak-UK bilateral relations, the regional situation and other issues of mutual interest.

Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan while recalling ex-UK premier Cameron’s landmark statement that “friends of Pakistan are friends of Britain and enemies of Pakistan are enemies of Britain”, said that the people of Pakistan have great respect for David Cameron whose tenure served to raise the profile and substance of  Pak-UK relations taking them to new heights. 

“Your support for Pakistan, its democracy and institutions and especially for the people of Pakistan will always be remembered as a true friend of the country”, the spokesperson of the Interior Ministry quoted the Interior Minister as saying.

The two leaders discussed a whole gamut of issues related to Pak-UK relations and the progress achieved so far in various agreed areas.

The former UK Prime Minister appreciated Pakistan’s efforts in promoting stability in the region and particularly in Afghanistan. Cameron said that he will continue to work for close Pak UK relations in his personal capacity. He wished the government and the people of Pakistan well for the future.
