RAHIM YAR KHAN Cotton worth millions of rupees was burnt to ashes when a fire broke out in a cotton factory on Abu Dhabi Road, 13-km from here. It has been learnt that sparks emanating from a welding plant at Rehmat Cotton Factory. According to factory owner, fire engulfed the heaps of cotton and suddenly spread in the whole factory. The factory administration called the Rescue Fire Bridge fighters reached on the spot and controlled the fire after three hours struggle. The estimate of loss was told about Rs8 million. Fire fighters saved maximum cotton from burning. The factory owner told that reason of fire was short circuit while the labourers of the factory told the reason was sparking of welding plant. The Police was looking into the matter.
