PHC issues notices to ministries

PESHAWAR - Peshawar High Court on Wednesday issued notices to police high-ups, defense and interior ministries in missing persons' cases and asked Lakki Marwat interment centre in-charge to submit a report about the presence of a citizen in the centre.
A two-member bench of PHC headed by PHC Chief Justice Mazhar Alam Miankhel and Justice Malak Manzoor Hussian heard the cases of missing persons. On this occasion, Deputy Attorney General Manzoor Khalil, Additional Advocate General Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, lawyers appeared before the court. The court was told about a missing person Raza Ahmad.
Hailing from Naguman Dab locality of district Charsadda, Raza Ahmad, who has been arrested on August 13, 2014 from the posh area of Hayatabad and since then he has been missing.
In this regard, the PHC issued notices to high-ups of police and SHO of Hayatabad Police Station to submit a report about the case with the court.
Moreover, the bench, while issuing notice to the in-charge of Lakki Marwat Interment centre to submit a report to the count about the presence of a citizen Mujahid in the centre, besides directed ministries of defense and interior to explain their position.
Similarly, the court also transferred at least 52 cases of missing persons to additional registrar of the PHC.

SUB-INSPECTOR SUSPENDED
Inspector General of Police Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Nasir Khan Durrani has suspended Investigation Officer Sub Inspector Diyar Khan on faulty investigation and ordered departmental inquiry against him.
According to details, a citizen of Mardan had complained to the IGP that the investigation officer of Police Station Chora Mardan Sub Inspector Diyar Khan has investigated a case poorly due to which the accused released on bail. The IGP checked these complaints through senior police officers of Mardan region who in their report termed the complaints based on facts. The IGP in light of the report of senior police officers of Mardan region suspended sub inspector Diyar Khan with immediate effect. The IGP further directed DIG Mardan to request the court to initiate action against sureties who helped the accused in releasing him on bail.
