ISLAMABAD: The government has decided to turn all government schools in the federal area (rural area) into model educational institutions.

In the first phase, as many as 20 government schools will be turned into model schools. As part of the makeover, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif will inaugurate a model school in the constituency of MNA Dr Tariq Fazal Chaudhry on his return from the US. According to the source, Maryam Nawaz is also looking into the entire process of conversion of schools into model ones.

According to the source, in line with the vision of the premier, education standard in government schools will be brought at par with private educational institutions to persuade parents to send their children into government schools.

The source said that work on the project has got pace after unprecedented increase in fee by private educational institutions. Qualified teaching staff will be appointed in these schools and state of the art science and computer labs will be built in model schools.
