Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah has suspended SSP Malir Rao Anwar after the latter arrested Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s leader Khawaja Izahrul Hassan, Waqt News reported.
According to details, the Sindh chief minister was reportedly unaware of the arrest of Khawaja Izahrul Hassan. Murad Ali Shah also ordered an investigation into the matter.
The development comes after Rao Anwar arrested the Muttahida leader from his house. Local media also reported that MQM Pakistan’s chief Dr Farooq Sattar was also present when Malir police arrested Hassan.
Earlier, Dr Farooq Sattar alleged that Malir police arrested Khawaja Izahrul Hassan without any warrant. He added that the elected Muttahida leaders would approach the high court.
“This is harassment. Muttahida leaders in Pakistan are being harrassed one by one. We will present ourselves before the law, every single elected Muttahida worker in Pakistan,” Sattar told reporters.
