PMs Kabul visit to help improve ties: Hoti

PESHAWAR Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ameer Haider Khan Hoti said Saturday that visit of Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani to Kabul had great importance. The visit will have far reaching impact on relation between the two neighbouring countries, he said while talking to media persons after the inauguration of Gul Bahar Flyover here. He said that the visit of the Premier Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani to Afghanistan would help further strengthen relations. He stressed upon the need for restoring the confidence between the two counties. The situation would have been certainly different, if the views of their partys leadership had been taken seriously during Afghan jehad, said the CM, adding that war of others had been imposed on them, for which, they paid the price. Instead of drone attacks, international community should help provincial government in mega developmental projects, which, he said would usher in progress and prosperity in the region. Doubt over Pakistans role in war on terror is beyond the fact and contrary to the reality, he said adding War on terror could not be fought from across the oceans he remarked. We have certainly paid heavy price for. We have rendered a lot of sacrifices. Indeed, more sacrifices would be rendered for the elimination of those who are the enemies of religion, human beings, peace and progress, the Chief Minister maintained. He, however, said that for all this, we dont need getting dictation and accreditation from any body. Instead of drone attacks, the international community should assist us in imparting education, providing health facilities and speedy justice and eradicating poverty and unemployment, he said. Earlier, Hoti formally laid the foundation stone of Gul Bahar-Nishtar Abad Flyover on GT Road. The project would be completed wthin18 months by spending Rs 670 million, which would help to overcome traffic problem to a great extent. He said that his government was committed to bring glory of Peshawar back, and proper priority would be given to it. No hurdle would be bearable, he said. Different projects, he informed were in progress in the city which he said included the Southern Bypass, widening of Link road, expressway and soon work would be launched on the establishment of an international standard Zoo and 11 underpasses.
