ISLAMABAD - President Asif Ali Zardari on Tuesday on the advice of the Prime Minister has approved nomination of two judges of Lahore High Court, Mr. Justice Muhammad Anwaarul Haq and Mr. Justice Mehmood Maqbool Bajwa to function as Appellate tribunal No.3 in addition to the already constituted Appellate Tribunals No.1 & 2 for disposal of appeals arising out of the decisions of the Returning Officers for the constituencies falling under the territorial jurisdiction of Principal seats of High court. Spokesperson to the President Senator Farhatullah Babar said that the summary received in the Presidency states that keeping in view the filing of large number of Appeals with the two existing Appellate Tribunals on the principal seat of Lahore High Court, Election Commission on the proposal of Chief Justice Lahore High Court nominated the above mentioned tribunal. Now when the President, on the advice of Prime Minister has approved the nomination, the Election Commission of Pakistan will transfer an appropriate number of appeals to this newly constituted tribunal for disposal in accordance with the law.
