PESHAWAR - Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Pervez Khattak while strongly condemning the terror incident of attacking a school in the high security zone at Warsak Road Peshawar and giving bloodbath to innocent children therein has termed it extremely anti-human and barbaric act of the century. He said that such holocaust is impossible for a group but it involved clandestine external terror forces.
The chief minister announced Shaheed Package for the affected families wherein heirs of slain students and teachers will be paid Rs5 lakh each while every injured will receive Rs2 lakh. Similarly he announced three days official mourning wherein the national flag will be flown at half-mast at all government buildings while all the public and private educational institutions will be closed.
Pervez Khattak soon after getting information of the heartbreaking incident cancelled all his routine official engagements and besides close contacts with the police and army authorities also visited Lady Reading Hospital and Combined Military Hospital where he enquired after the injured and expressed sympathies and solidarity with their family members.
He also immediately issue red alert of police force and health department while asked the provincial cabinet members, MPAs and PTI leaders and workers to reach the hospitals and arrange blood for the injured children and teachers.
He issued appeal to the party workers and citizens for donation of O negative blood to save innocent lives because there was acute shortage of this blood group in both the hospitals. KP Speaker Provincial Assembly Asad Qiaser, Senior Minister Shahram Khan Tarakai, Provincial Minister Mushtaq Ahmad Ghani, Muhammad Atif Khan, ZiaUllah Afridi, CM Advisors Ishitaq Urmar, Shah Muhammad Khan, Arbab Jehandad Khan, Chief Secretary Amjad Ali Khan, Secretary Health Mushtaq Jadoon and other public representatives and high-ups also accompanied the chief minister during his visit.
Talking to the parents of injured children, affectees and journalists, Pervez Khattak said that no religion or society allowed to make innocent children victim of terrorism especially there was no concept of terror in Islam but instead Islam asks to avoid terrorism and extremism but working for peace, tranquillity and reconciliation. He said that terrorists showed worst type of brutality in the recent act and the time has come to expose terror networks as well as adopt stern actions and transparent policy at national level to eradicate the roots of terrorism from our society for good.
Meanwhile, the LRH and CMH administration on contacts of the chief minister thanked him for issuing appeal of blood donation through media as he was told that in response of this appeal the youth and students of various educational institutions including Peshawar started visiting to the hospitals and donating blood for the injured so much that even the deficiency of O negative blood was also overcome while the process of blood donation was still continued. Pervez Khattak expressed satisfaction on it and said that our nation is a great nation to offer any sacrifice for the fellow countrymen. He said our people have rendered matchless sacrifices for the country and nation that would bear fruits while a bright and peaceful future was awaiting our youth owing to their sacrifices and tireless efforts.
