AC extends remand of Dr. Asim for seven days

KARACHI: An accountability court (AC) today extended remand for seven days of former petroleum minister and PPP leader Dr. Asim Hussain, in corruption charges case.

National Accountability Bureau officials presented Dr. Asim before the court of Justice Saad Qureshi amid tight security after his seven-day physical remand expired.

The NAB prosecutor and investigation officer requested the court to grant extension in Dr. Asim’s remand for further interrogation. The court extended remand of the former petroleum minister for seven days, directing the NAB officials to present him before the court on December 23.

Talking to media, Dr. Asim said he is suffering from several diseases and that he is taking heavy medicines. He also showed a wound under his right knee, saying he often falls on ground due to prevailing illness.
