NAB not bullying PM, says Irfan Siddiqui

ISLAMABAD: Irfan Siddiqui the special assistant to the Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has said that the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has not been threatening by the premier.

In an interview, he said that, the government of Pakistan made an exemplary deal with the Qatar in connection with the import of LNG but NAB restored their low-grade tactics to sabotage the LNG project.

He said that NAB performance is zero adding that the watchdog works under government and is answerable to it.

He further said that as NAB is a government institute therefore it is the responsibility of the government to improve its performance.

“The system of state cannot be run while arresting and harassing innocent people, he added. We had no objection on action against corrupt people but the NAB harassing honest officials through various tactics,” he added.

He further said that the government is planning to constitute a law to keep an eye on NAB activities.
