LAHORE – Midwifery Association of Pakistan (MAP) President Basharat Naseer Akhtar has stressed the need for raising awareness about breast feeding.
According a press release, the association has been encouraging communities and health facilities to use new media technology to reach larger numbers of people with breastfeeding information. The body has also called for broadening the scope of breastfeeding advocacy to involve traditionally less interested parties like youth, men, family planning advocacy etc.
Breastfeeding information and feedback must be enhanced, mentorship be encouraged, it averred.
