A poor scavenger, 14, drowned in Nullah Leh at Dhoke Chiragh Din area while sifting reusable items, informed Rescue 1122 on Tuesday.
However, the name of the victim could not be ascertained till filing of this report. Rescue 1122, on information, rushed to scene and started search operation but could not find the dead body because of high flow of water.
According to Rescue 1122 and some eyewitnesses, a scavenger was searching for trash in Nullah Leh near Jhanda Lift at Dhoke Chiragh Din when he fell into the Nullah and drowned. Locals called Rescue 1122 which conducted search operation. Later, operation was suspended owing to darkness, informed Rescue 1122 spokesperson.–Staff Reporter
