Islamabad- General Raheel Sharif, Chief of Army Staff, cancelled his scheduled visit to Sri Lanka today owing to operation Zarb-e-Azb in North Waziristan.
Media reports said that Gen Sharif was scheduled to leave for Sril Lanka today on a four-day visit. However, he cancelled his visit due to full-scale military operation in the restive tribal area launched on Sunday.
Meanwhile, on third day of the operation there are reports that 50 more militants were killed as military jets pounded targets in Khoshhali and Khajori areas near Mir Ali in early morning airstrikes.
