582 weapon licenses issued to educational institutions, religious places

RAWALPINDI: Five hundred and eighty two weapon licenses have been issued to educational departments and religious places under the Security Act in Rawalpindi district.

According to District Administration, a complete ban has been imposed on the issuance of arms licenses to the common citizens on the order of Chief Minister. 

According to reports, DCO Talat Gondal is issuing lincenses for 30 bore, 9 MM, 12 bore weapons only for government and private schools, colleges, universities, madaris and Imambargahs.

It is worth mentioning that the government decided to enhance the security of educational institutions in Punjab after terrorists attack at Army Public School Peshawar. The educational institutions were directed to appoint security guards and also fence the boundary walls for the security of the students.
