NOORPUR THAL - Speakers at a seminar stressed the need for raising awareness among people about gender-based violence. They also called for providing a forum for dialogue and information- sharing and lobbying with public sector stakeholders regarding the national and international commitments on gender disparity.
They were expressing their views at the moot, titled “protection against harassment of women.” The event was organized jointly by Aurat Foundation and the USAID.
Khushab DCO Mehr Sultan Ahmad participated as chief guest in the ceremony. Deputy District Social Welfare Officer Saima Saleem, Advocate Ch Arshad Mehmood, Prof Khalid Jilani, former Tehsil Naib Nazim Malik Tahir Raza Baghoor and other speakers also addressed the event.
They also praised economic, political and social achievements of the women of Pakistan.
The speakers also expressed solidarity with survivors and victims of gender-based violence.
