Islamabad - The inauguration ceremony of South Campus of Air University and Fazaia Medical College was held at the main campus of Air University.
Air Chief Marshal Tahir Rafique Butt, Chief of the Air Staff, Pakistan Air Force, was the chief guest at the occasion. Vice-Chancellor Air University, Air-Vice Marshal (Retd) Faaiz Amir, Principal Staff Officers of Pakistan Air Force and the faculty also attended the ceremony.
The air chief, who is also chairman board of governors Air University, unveiled the inauguration plaques of Fazaia Medical College and South Campus of Air University, says a press release issued here on Monday. While addressing on the occasion, the air chief said, “Pakistan Air Force always gives prime focus to education and community services.
The development of education sector in Pakistan is not only vital but also the need of the hour.” He further said that it was a historic moment as both these institutions held great potential to provide quality education to prospective students.
He expressed his best wishes for timely completion and success of the projects and assured that the PAF would continue supporting Air University in future as well.
The air chief especially thanked the Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, who had earlier sanctioned the allotment of land in Sector H-12 of Islamabad to meet the university’s growing future needs.
In his welcome speech, Air Vice-Marshal (Retd) Faaiz Amir apprised the audience of the gradual progress and expansion of buildings and academic opportunities at the Air University. The South Campus of Air University will accommodate eight to ten thousand students with boarding facility; whereas, Fazaia Medical College will provide quality education to more than 500 students.
