PESHAWAR - Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaf (PTI) former provincial minister Shaukat Yousafzai has rejected formation of a forward bloc within the party and termed it a propaganda against it. “PTI workers are united under the dynamic leadership of Imran Khan,” he stated this while speaking at ‘Meet the Press’ programme organised by the Peshawar Press Club here on Friday.
 Shuakat Yousafzai said that there were some reservations of the party activists but it did not mean that any forward block was created in the PTI.  About his removal as provincial minister, Shaukat Yousafzai said he is very happy to work as an ordinary worker of the party.
“I have rendered numerous sacrifices for the party and that is why the party leadership reposed trust in me by assigning portfolios of KP minister for health and industries,” he added.  He claimed that he had played a pivotal role in party reorganisation during a decade long affiliation with the PTI in the province.
 “I have always give importance to party over portfolios and ministries,” he maintained. He said that the party has given him a due status and expressed full confidence in PTI Chief Imran Khan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Pervez Khattak.
He said he is bounded to follow all decisions of the party. 
About measures taken in health sector during his tenure as minister, he said he had taken host of steps for brining reforms in health sector in a very short span of time.
He explained that the establishment of insulin bank, free kidney transplant, free emergency service 72 hours in all major teaching hospitals and updgration of facilities at casualty unit in the Lady Reading Hospital are his major achievements.
Talking about the ‘Sehat Ka Insaf’ programme, the former minister said the drive was successfully carried out in Peshawar, Mardan, Swabi and Charsadda due to which the WHO declared Peshawar polio-free after testing samples of water in the metropolis.
About the People’s Primary Healthcare Initiative (PPHI) programme, Yousafzai said that he always opposed the programme and would oppose it in future because this is not in the interest of people of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
