Speakers teach tolerance, love, religious harmony

Two conferences on Shahadat-e-Imam Hussain (RA) were organised here separately, and the speakers on the occasion highlighted the philosophy of martyrdom of Syedul Shuhada (chief of martyrs) and his companions.
In Chiniot, the orators said that such persons as bear hardships with a smiling face are rewarded by Allah Almighty. "Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) and other Muslims suffered hardships with patience and perseverance.
Therefore, the martyrs are remembered with high gratitude," said Abdul Waris. He stressed the need for promotion of love and affection. He added, "The event of Karbala inspires us to uphold the glory of Islam. We should not hesitate to make any sacrifice for this purpose.
Addressing another such conference held at Daska, Prof Muhammad Raza Saqib Mustafai, a prominent religious scholar, urged the people to seek inspiration from sacrifice of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) and fight against tyranny, dictatorship and terrorism, to put the country on path to progress and development.
He said at Karbala, the family members and companions of Holy Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him) especially his grandson offered the supreme sacrifices to uphold the golden principles of Islam against evil powers.
He added that the incident of Karbala is remembered as a historical event which set lasting example of sacrifice for upholding the principles of truth. Jihad fought by Imam Hussain along with his companions is a shinning example of courage, patience perseverance and determination.
Prof Raza Saqib Mustafai said, "Ashura gives us a message of making any sacrifice for upholding the principles of truthfulness and Islamic values.
The Muslim Ummah is passing through a difficult phase and confronting problems and challenges of extremism and terrorism. Today, the Ummah needs the spirit of Karbala. With spirit of sacrifice and unflinching determination, we can overcome difficulties."
He narrated, "The best way to pay tributes to the martyrs of Karbala is to make commitment on the day to work and devote ourselves for the development and strengthening of Islam and Pakistan. The day is a reminder of how to stand up for the right with dauntless courage for freedom and justice and serves as a glowing example for the entire humanity."
He said Karbala will always be quoted as an example of determination and resolve, by a group of devotees who set the example of sacrifice and bravery against a despot.
He said Hazrat Imam Hussain stood up against a dictator to protect the Islamic values. "His supreme sacrifice reflects the spirit of Islam which is against tyranny and despotism. Let us pledge that we shall fight against tyranny, ignorance, dictatorship, terrorism, barbarism and violence in the light of the principles set by Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA).
Only then can we can put our country on the path to development and progress," he concluded.
Group formed: Former District Council Chairman Syed Mehmood Akbar Rizvi and former PPP MNA Arif Aziz Sheikh have joined hands and announced fielding joint candidates in four union councils of Chanigoth town, Kot Khalifa, Gamani and Mahand.
They announced the decision in a joint press conference held at Chanigoth here on Tuesday.
The former MNA alleged that the PML-N government had chalked out plan to rig the local body polls but the PPP would foil its designs with the support of the masses.
He claimed that he would get public support for his groups candidates in local bodies elections as he had spend billion of rupees for the uplift of the area.
It is pertinent to mention that both the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader Arif Aziz Sheikh and pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) leader Hassan Askari Sheikh decided to support Yasar Salim Sheikh from their home constituency Union Council Rajahu.
