ISLAMABAD-  Information Minister Pervaiz Rashid has said the Multan by-election has once again proved that people have confidence in the existing electoral system.
In a statement, he said Imran Khan should review his policy of confrontation and baseless accusations. The Information Minister said low turnout in the Multan by-election shows people are in no mood for fresh general elections in the country.
He said low turnout suggests people have rejected the demand of Tehreek-e-Insaf and Pakistan Awami Tehreek for midterm elections.
He said the margin of victory of independent candidate Amir Dogar, who had PTI’s support, has been reduced as compared to General Elections 2013.
