ISLAMABAD- “Pakistan has received offers from many friendly countries and international agencies for assistance of flood affected people,” stated Finance Minister Ishaq Dar at a meeting with Charge D'Affaires of Saudi Embassy Jassim Al Khaldi today.
Dar said the international offers will only be utilized after thorough scrutiny of the damages by the UN and other agencies.
He pointed out that the task of rehabilitating the IDPs would be quite huge. It will be completed by an independent committee formed for the joint management of reconstruction task in a fair and transparent manner, he added.
The Saudi Charge D'Affaires extended condolences on the losses suffered by Pakistan in the recent floods. He assured his country's support for assistance of flood victims.
