Two girl colleges sans teaching staff, boys collEge faces shortage

The Government Boys Degree College and Government Girls Degree College are faced with acute shortage of teaching staff, particularly the Government Girls Degree College have no any teacher, putting future of girl students of this backward area at stake.
The shortage of teaching staff has become a burning issue due to which the students, especially the girl students have been suffering great difficulties in getting education at the Government Girls Degree College and Government Girls Degree Rangpur Baghoor. Many years have passed but the issues still persists which is an ample proof of the negligence all the authorities concerned.
According to Government Boys Degree College Principal Malik Habib Ullah Saggu, eight posts of teachers are lying vacant in the college. As officiating Principal of Government Girls Degree College Noorpur Thal and Government Girls Degree College Rangpur Baghoor, he said that all sanctioned seats of teachers in these institutions including principals were lying vacant.
He said that in order to achieve required results in the education sector, the government would have to fill the vacant posts in the colleges. “The provision of science education at local level will definitely contribute to the development of the country. The shortage of teachers is obviously negatively affecting the students,” he said. Principal Malik Habib told that this was the only college in Khushab District which still could not get the status of degree actually from the authorities concerned.
During the survey, this scribe also learnt that the Principal of Boys Degree College Noopur Thal Malik Habib Ullah Saggu also had additional charge of Government Girls Degree Colleges Noorpur Thal and Rangpur Baghoor.  To a question, Prof Malik Habib Ullah said that admission process for the first year had successfully been completed in the girls colleges.
Meanwhile, the prominent social worker of Thal Haji Summar Sultan pointed out that due to unavailability of permanent teaching staff in the colleges of Tehsil Noorpur Thal, students had to go to other cities likewise Jauharabad, Khushab, Bhakkar, Mianwali and Sargodha for higher education.
He demanded that the authorities concerned should immediately appoint permanent teachers in the colleges. In the meanwhile, social, educational, religious and literary circles have expressed grave concern over the situation.
They appealed the Punjab Chief Minister, Sargodha division Commissioner and Khushab DCO to take serious notice of the critical situation.
When contacted, MPA Malik Muhammad Waris Kallu said that it was prime motive of the government to spread education in every nook and corner of the province. The MPA said that the provincial government was fully aware of the problems being faced by the government colleges in the Tehsil. He said that the government was making effective measures to ensure early solution to the problems.
