PESHAWAR - Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Minister for Information and Culture, Mian Iftikhar Hussain has said that the ANP-led government successfully fought the case of the provincial autonomy.
After the 18th Amendment, the federating units are getting their due shares in the overall resources and the federating units have full power to pull resources to any sector that needed more beneficial for the overall development of the province and its people. He made these remarks while talking to media men after delivering a speech at Jashn-e-Khyber Pakhtunkhwa function at Pakistan National Council of Arts, Islamabad. Besides, Federal Minister for Railways Ghulam Ahmad Bilour, the function was also addressed and attended by the central and provincial leaderships of ANP.
The provincial minister said that the government is in the process of correcting the wrongs of the past. The institutions, which were totally in disarray, were put for rebuilding and these institutions are being made stronger to be responsive to public demands. He added that the Bannu Jail incident will properly be investigated on scientific lines and its all dimensions would be unearthed. The responsible would be taken to task, he said. Earlier, delivering his speech at Jashn-e-Khyber Pakhtunkhwa function, the minister said that the ANP government got identity for the whole of Pakhtun nation. The province constitutionally remained as KPK.
He said that all over struggle has a unique history and all over efforts bore fruits not for individuals but the whole Pakhtun nation.
Mian Iftikhar said they had enough resources to divert to such mega projects that would mitigate the sufferings of Pakhtuns.
His government is going to launch mega projects in all sectors, he added.
He continued that hydelpower sector is one among them where the provincial government is going whole-hog to launch the first mega projects for hydelpower generation this month and the power thus to be generated will go to the national grid and the province will in return earn more resources that will be again going to public welfare.
