Karachi: Amir Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Siraj ul Haq has said, there is no ethnic or linguistic issue in the country. The real issue is of oppressors and oppressed.
“There is no place for the people in the prevailing democracy in Pakistan. There is no linguistic or ethnic issue in Pakistan, but the real issue is of oppressors and oppressed in the country,” he said this while addressing a reception at Karachi Bar Council today.
He said Pakistan is not name of nationalities, but it is name of a philosophy. “Today we are living life of slaves. Our nation is still under the occupation of elite class. All the institutions of the country are in the possession of capitalists and feudal class,” he added.
Earlier the institution of media was independent, but now it has been made hostage by the ruling elite, he remarked. It now works to the dictates of ruling elite, he added. Ruling elite is so powerful that it makes any one hero or zero any time on its sweet will, he remarked.
He went on to say that politics has become business in Pakistan and democracy has been made its sport, by the capitalists and ruling elite. There is no place for the people in the existing democracy. Whosoever is not billionaire, can never become member of assembly, senator, president and prime minister. Poor is becoming poorer day by day and rich becoming richer in the country, he added.
Pakistan was created by Quaid-e-Azam and Allama Iqbal in the name of Islam; he said adding conspiracy is being hatched to divide Pakistan into nationalities. We all together will have to thwart this conspiracy, he held.
Pakistan is not of any nation or ruling elite or feudal class, but our forefathers have got it liberated by rendering supreme sacrifices, he underlined.
