FCCI terms peace vital for economic revival

FAISALABAD
Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (FCCI) President Mian Zahid Aslam has endorsed the Prime Minister’s statement that peace is a pre-requisite for economic revival and foreign investment in Pakistan. In a statement here, he said that the PM had rightly indicated that we cannot grow and make progress without ensuring peace for which practical steps were imperative to achieve the targets.
He further said that the establishment of anti-terror Centre in NUST, constituting of anti-terrorist secretariat at Federal level and setting up of a dedicated task force in Punjab were right steps but still there was a need for addressing the energy issue.
He continued that country would be facing water crisis if construction of multi-purposes dams would not be started without further delay. He said that construction of water reservoirs was inevitable as the existing water storage capacity of Mangla, Terbela and Chashma barrage had reduced with the passage of time.
He said that the government should make progress on the issue and also start negotiations with the business and industrial community to address their core issues with necessary practical steps for economic revival.
