SIALKOT - The intensified shelling by Indian Border Security Forces (BSF) on Sialkot border villages killed a donkey, besides creating harassment and panic among the locals in Charwah and Harpal sectors along Sialkot Working Boundary here on Sunday.
According to the senior officials of the Chenab Rangers, Indian Border Security Forces (BSF) started firing on Sialkot border villages at 01:00 am (early on Sunday morning) which continued for six consecutive hours till 06:00 am creating harassment and panic among the locals.
Indian BSF again targeted the civilian population as several houses and cattle sheds were badly damaged by the shelling. A donkey was also killed by the shelling.
Indian BSF used light machine guns (LMGs) and also fired several mortar shells. Majority of these mortar shells fell in the fields and could not explode.
Chenab Rangers retaliated instantly in a befitting manner and made the Indian guns silent.
It was the eleventh major incident of unprovoked Indian firing on Sialkot border villages during the current month.
Pakistan has expressed grave concern over this unprovoked shelling on Sialkot border villages along Working Boundary by BSF and also lodged a strong protest against this violation of ceasefire agreement by Indian forces, the senior officials of Chenab Rangers said.
