Anti-polio drive kicked off in Bajaur

BAJAUR AGENCY - A three-day polio vaccination campaign was launched in Bajaur Agency on Monday, wherein 222,480 children across the region would be vaccinated.
Political Agent Bajaur Agency, Sayed Abadul Jabar Shah inaugurated the anti-polio drive at Khar. Speaking at the ceremony Political Agent said that government is very interested for the complete eradication of polio disease in the country because poliovirus is become a serious threats to the lives of children. He asked the tribal elders and ulema to extend their full support and said that cooperation of local is vital for the eradication the polio from the agency.
He urged the health officials to keep close watch over the activities of the vaccination team because the performances of the teams were remained unsatisfactory in the recent past.
“A proper monitoring system of the vaccination teams and check and balance of the entire anti polio campaign is very necessary for the success of goal,” he added.
He expressed great concerned over the increasing of missing children from the vaccination in the recent past campaign and enhancing of refusal cases in the different parts of the region.
