MARDAN - To control entrance of suspected and strangers in the district, the local police have imposed Section 55/ 109 in the district, police sources told TheNation.
They said that station house officer (SHO) of a police station has the power that if any stranger of other area without any sufficient reason enters in the limits of his police station he can arrest him and can charge him under section 55/ 109 and due to which the people of other areas without any reason cannot come to other areas. Sources further said that from the last several years’ police left use of this section. Sources added that only SHO can use these sections.
Sources said that due to the militancy Mardan police has again started use of these sections.
Sources said that on Saturday SHO of police station Sher Ghar use these section and arrested 8 people including Amanullah, Fida, Sher, Amir Ali, Gulzada, Shakeel, Ihsanullah, Ijaz.
Sources said that with the use of these section entrance of strangers, militants, criminals and other suspected will become difficult in the district and it will also help local police to control militancy in the district.
