Funeral prayers in absentia held across Punjab

Funeral prayers in absentia for the Peshawar martyrs were held across the Punjab province like other parts of the country on Wednesday.
A funeral prayers was held at Govt Islamia College ground which was led by MPA Maulana Ilyas Chinioti. It was participated by politicians, business community, civil society, lawyers and religious organisations’ leaders. It was worth mentioning that even the followers of different sects joined the prayers under the same prayer leader.
In Sheikhupura, the funeral prayer for the martyrs was offered in Yadgar Park at Company Bagh Ground. A large numbers of citizens, MNAs, MPAs and traders participated in funeral prayers. Religious scholars on the occasion stressed political parties to shun their differences and be united on one platform for the sake of country and protect the future of our children.
The city and adjoining areas witness an exemplary shutdown strike throughout the day. All the shops, markets and other business centres remained closed around the clock.
Bahawalpur The district administration, Islamia University of Bahawalpur and civil society representatives offered Namaz-e-Janaza of innocent people at DCO Office where RPO, DPO, DCO and other notables of the city participated in the funeral.
The Rahim Yar Khan citizens strongly condemned killing and brought out a protest rallies. All major personalities of the city with a large number of people attended a funeral prayers for Peshawar martyrs at Sadiq Bazar Chowk.
DCO Nabeel Javed, MNA Mian Imtiaz Ahmed, DBA President Manzor Warraich, PTI President Rana Raheel, former MNA Ch Zafar Iqbal Warraich and a large number of businessmen and local residents attended the funeral prayers at Sadiq Bazar Chowk.
In Hafizabad, prayers was offered for the departed souls at District Complex which was attended by the district officers, judges, lawyers and different places by different social and religious organisations. Students of different schools and colleges and members of Press Club/Union of Journalists lit candles in memory of the martyrs of Peshawar.
Women also gathered at the different places in memory of the martyrs and offered Quran Khawani and ‘Fateh’ for them.  Meanwhile, almost all the religious parties called upon politicians and religious leaders to shun their petty differences.
Jamaat-e-Islami also held funeral at Sialkot city’s congested Allama Iqbal Chowk and the link roads. Thousands of the people including traders, political figures, journalists, lawyers, exporters, teachers and students of educational institutions attended the funeral.
In Sahiwal and Muzaffargarh, funeral prayers were offered in Bar Room. A large number of lawyers participated in the prayers.
Funeral prayers in absentia for the martyrs of Peshawar was held in Fayyaz Park Muzaffargarh District along with Collage Ground Alipur, and was attended by DCO Hafiz Shaukar Ali, District Police officer Rai Zameerul Haq, ADCG ,DSP City Ehsanullah Shad, MNA Jamshad Ahmed Khan Dasti, among a large number of people.
In Toba Tek Singh, funeral prayers was offered at TMA Park by hundreds of citizens for the children and other persons martyred in a Peshawar school. Funeral prayers in absentia for all the martyred were also held in the plots of Jamia Inayatia Sabzi Mandi. TMA Mian Channu, Jahanina and Kabirwala, hundreds of people from all walks of life attended the funeral prayers and prayed for the departed souls of martyred.
