Karachi violence claims 7 more lives


KARACHI - At least seven more people lost their lives in different incidents of violence in the city on Sunday.
Two young friends’ bullet-riddled bodies, whose hands and legs were tied with ropes, were found from Shah Waliullah Road, Lyari, within the limits of Baghdadi Police Station.
Police said the victims were identified as 19-year-old Sameer Saleem and Mohammad Hussnain, 27, who had been kidnapped by unidentified culprits on Saturday night and later they were found dead. Police officials said the victims belonged to Kutchi community.
They said that both the victims used to work at private factories and the motive behind the incident has yet to be ascertained.
Another bullet-riddled body of a youth was found from Malir River within the limits of Shah Latif Police Station. Police said that identification of the deceased has yet to be ascertained, the body moved to morgue for identification. The motive behind the incident could be ascertained after the identification, the police said.
Body of a clerk was found from Maripur Road within the precincts of Sher Shah Police Station. The police said that the victim has been identified as Munir Hakeem, 35, who used to work as a clerk at the Union Council No. 3, Lyari. He was kidnapped by unidentified culprits who later threw his body after torturing him to death.
The police said that the initial investigation suggests that victim was shot dead after being kidnapped. His body was taken to Civil Hospital, Karachi for legal formalities and later handed over to his family for burial. No case has been registered.
A citizen, Ismail Khan, was found dead from Banaras locality within Pirabad Police jurisdiction. The police said a motorcycle that was snatched from Mominabad area of Orangi, was also found near by the body. The police suspected that the deceased was involved in criminal activities while further investigation are underway.
A young man, Shahnawaz Mohammad, was found dead from Malir area within the limits of Saudabad Police Station. Police officials said that deceased lived in Lyari and the initial investigation suggested some unidentified persons shot him dead and later dumped his body at the abandon place.
A citizen, Akhtar Abdullah, was found dead from Zamanabad area of Landhi.
 The police officials said that deceased was Afghan origin and used ti live in Sohrab Goth area, adding that unidentified persons after kidnapping him from Sohrab Goth area took him away at undisclosed location where they shot him dead over unexplained reasons and later dumped his body at the abandon place.
