Draft prepared for holding KPK LB polls

PESHAWAR  - Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Local Bodies and Rural Development Inayatullah Khan has said the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has already prepared a local bodies draft and proper legislation would soon been made in this regard.
Talking to media persons after launching the 'Clean and Green Khyber Pakhtunkhwa campaign' here on Monday, he said that all available resources would be utilised to materialise the slogan of "Green and Clean Khyber Pakhtunkhwa". The minister informed that necessary arrangements for holding Local Government (LG) elections was finalised, which will be held in April this year.
Regarding the clean and green KPK drive, he informed that the campaign will be carried out in three months in the province under which more than 80 million saplings would be planted in various districts of the province. He said the plantation is eminent for keeping the environment clean. During the campaign, he said an awareness drive would also be launched to create importance of plantation of trees and sapling among the general public.
He said that the department has issued special instructions to Peshawar Development Authority to not leave any place without plantation of trees. "We want to become Peshawar and entire Khyber Pakhtunkhwa as clean and green," he said.
On the occasion, he handed over a cheque of Rs.2.5million to Department of Peace and Conflict Studies University of Peshawar.
