University of Gujrat Vice Chancellor Dr Ziaul Qayyum pledged to leave no stone unturned to make UoG a university of excellence besides making efforts for winning the status of the most prestigious university in the country through performance.
He was addressing the participants of a ceremony held at the auditorium of UoG Sialkot Camps after inauguration of the newly established building of the campus. UoG Sialkot Campus Director General Dr Anwaar Ahmed, CEO Rehan Younas, Chairman Faisal Manzur, Registrar Dr Tahir Aqeel, Dr Khalida Gillani, Noma Khawaja, Dr Sheikh Abdul Rasheed, teachers and notables were also present.
VC highly hailed the pivotal role of DG Dr Anwaar Ahmed in promotion of quality education in Sialkot. VC added that UoG has assured the easy access of everyone to the quality and advanced education besides, removing all the hurdles from the smooth way of promotion of education in the region, as the UoG had already been showing the excellent results and performance in curriculum and extra curriculum activities.
The VC said that the students are asset and future of the country. He also urged the teachers and parents to focus on the character-building of the students as the students are the future of the nation. “We should facilitate them so that they could become able to serve the nation in a better way,” he said.
He announced appreciation certificates and cash awards for exceptional UoG teachers for their outstanding performance. Sharing the success story of UoG Sialkot campus, Director General Dr Anwaar Ahmed told the audience that a special endowment fund “Imam Bibi Endowment Fund” was also being established at Sialkot Campus for the deserving students opening the door of getting quality education, as education is the basic right of everyone.
The DG also strongly criticised the targeting of educational institutions in Pakistan by the anti-Islam and anti-Pakistan elements. He said, “The provision of secure and peaceful educational atmosphere to our generation is the prime obligation of all the segments of the society.”
