SC seeks record, details of dismissed cases from FBR chairman

ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court has sought details and record of all cases from the FBR chairman within four weeks which were disposed of by courts due to non-appearance of FBR officers and legal advisors.
The court has directed the FBR chairman to file a report detailing the action taken so far against the officers, whose negligence and apathy led to the dismissal of cases in courts.
When a three-member SC bench headed by Justice Gulzar Ahmad took up the case for hearing on Thursday, the FBR chairman filed an application seeking adjournment of the case seeking more time to file a report.
The court remarked, “we are giving time but the report should be filed in the next hearing at any cost. Cases are being dismissed due to non-appearance of FBR officials in courts,” the court observed seeking report in two weeks.
