Alleged mastermind of Kamra attack, killed in Karachi Rangers' action

KARACHI- The alleged mastermind of the attack on the Kamra airbase was killed during overnight action carried out by Rangers personnel in Karachi.
According to the spokesman for the paramilitary force, the alleged mastermind was associated with the Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and was killed during targeted action in Karachi's Musharraf Colony.

The airbase was attacked in August 2012 by seven heavily armed militants, sparking an intense gun battle lasting almost five hours. The militants were armed with automatic weapons, grenades and suicide vests. Intense exchange of fire between militants and security forces ensued after the attackers infiltrated the base located in Attock, Punjab.
