Woman held for carrying 2-kg heroin

RAWALPINDI - A 50-year-old woman was arrested by Anti Narcotics Force (ANF) at Chungi Number 26 while trying to smuggle 2-kg heroin from Khyber Agency to Faisalabad on Thursday.
The accused, identified as Shamshad wife of Ibad-ur-Rehman and hailing from Peshawar, had an eight-year old boy along with her at the time of arrest who told to be her nephew, informed ANF sources here. 
According to the sources, the woman was arrested when she stepped out from a passenger van, which arrived from Peshawar, at Chungi Number 26 on GT Road. On suspicion a total of 2-kg heroin was recovered from her possession, the sources said.
An ANF investigator revealed that the woman revealed during investigation that she got this heroin from a man namely Ali at Landi Kotal and was to deliver it to an unknown man in Faisalabad. "I have been paid Rs 20,000 for this task," the investigator quoted her as saying.
A case was registered her. Later, the woman was presented before the Court of Narcotics Substance Control Judge, who sent her to Adyala Jail.
Meanwhile, ANF also seized a huge quantity of Charas, heroin and Amphetamine in five operations conducted in different parts of the country besides arresting four smugglers.
