PESHAWAR - A policeman was killed and another sustained injuries in two separate incidents when armed persons opened fire on them here at Kotwali and Yakatoot areas on Tuesday.
Police said that the first incident occurred in the jurisdiction of Yakatoot police station when armed persons targeted a policeman Shahensha who was on duty in Kotwali police station. He was rushed to Lady Reading Hospital but he succumbed to his injuries on the way to hospital.
Meanwhile, another incident occurred in Rashid Garhi area when a policeman Irshad son of Gul Mohammad came under attack inside the shop of a property dealer. He sustained minor injuries on abdominal region and was shifted to Lady Reading Hospital Peshawar.
Meanwhile, police in a crackdown against criminals arrested 27 suspected persons and recovered weapons from their possession in jurisdiction of Khazana police station.
