ISLAMABAD - Interior Minister Rehman Malik came up with a suggestion about the solution of Balochistan issue when he said in the Upper House on Wednesday that Senate committees comprising all parliamentary parties in the house should be formed to talk with the estranged Baloch leaders.Speaking in the Senate, Malik said that at least two house committees having minimum five senators in each committee should be dispatched to talk with estranged leaders, including Harbyar Murree and Brahamdagh Bugti. "Baloch leaders say they have been victimised, so the Senate should need to know how they were mistreated," he offered his full support to these committees. He said that he was ready to give an in-camera briefing to the House on the issue. The minister will conclude the law and order debate with special reference to Balochistan, Karachi and Gilgit Baltistan today (Thursday). He asserted that no decision had been taken to launch operation in North Waziristan Agency (NWA).He told the House about his visit to Swat to inquire after the health of the schoolgirls who were injured along with Malala Yousafzai in a terrorist attack. He said that $10 million bounty was announced for the TTP spokesman Ahsanullah Ahsan. He went on to add that efforts were under way to nominated Moulvi Fazullah as the next head of the TTP. To a query, the minister said that Nadra had stopped issuing arms licenses after the Sindh High Court in its decision declared that it had no legal authority to issue such licenses. He said the government was going into appeal against SHC decision.The Upper House unanimously passed the Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan Bill, 2012 after it sailed in the Lower House. Climate Change Minister for Rana Farooq Saeed Khan, winding up the debate regarding devastation caused by the recent floods in Balochistan, said his ministry had directed all the provinces to allocate appropriate funds for their respective provincial disaster management authorities (PDMAs) to cope with floods. "However, provinces could not prepare themselves for such situation," he added. He said that NDMA had provided 43,000 ration bags and more than 17,000 tents to flood-victims of Balochistan. The minister said the prime minister had announced Rs 2 billion for the development of flood-hit districts of Balochistan.
