ISLAMABAD - Criticising Chairman of PTI Imran Khan, Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan said on Monday he would not consult PTI’s ‘immature and non-serious’ leadership about caretaker set up until and unless it accepted its mistake and withdraws allegations against his person. “I as Leader of Opposition used the same channel for consultation with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in this consultative process, which was used on the occasion of election of Chief Election Commissioner (CEC)”, Nisar Khan told a Press briefing here at his NA Chamber.
“Imran Khan, said ‘no way’ to our proposed candidate and also floated two names on behalf of his party, but he alleged me for not taking his party into confidence on this process”, he said, adding, that he possessed evidence of text message and audio recording of Imran Khan.
He said that Pakistan Muslim League-Q (LM), Pakhtunkhwa Milli Awami Party (PKMAP), National Peoples Party (NPP) and others had also responded to PML-N in this procedure.
“Even today, I talked to Akhtar Mengal while Mahmood Khan Achakzai met me here at the Parliament House and we discussed political situation in Balochistan with special reference to law and order there as well as possible election alliance for Karachi and others”, Nisar added.
Reacting to statements of Dr Abdul Qadeer Khan, founder of Pakistan’s nuclear programme, he said Dr A.Q. Khan was highly respected personality across the board so he should not issue statements contradictory to the ground realities.
“Dr Sahib’s statements may not harm any political leader, but they may create problems for the nation and country,” he said ,adding, that he should clarify his position and avoid making such statements.
About latest increase in prices of petroleum products and CNG, he said his party would submit a resolution to take the government head-on on increasing prices which he believed was a ‘Jagga tax’ by PPP-led ruling coalition and had nothing to do with the international prices.
