CHANDIGARH - Swami Aseemanand, main accused in the 2007 Samjhauta Express train blast case in which Pakistani nationals were also killed, was on Friday granted bail by a special National Investigation Agency (NIA) court at Panchkula. The blast occurred near Panipat in which 68 persons mostly Pakistani nationals were killed. Swami Aseemanand belongs to right wing Hindu organisation and is facing trial in three cases of blasts that attacked Muslims’ religious places and Samjhuata Express train that runs between Attari and Delhi.
