Harvesting seems a hurdle in political activities

As the rural men, women and even children are busy in wheat harvesting, the political parties' candidate here are facing difficulties regarding their campaigns as they have to visit the fields to woo the people.
The rural areas' people in Sialkot district are busy in wheat harvesting and seem to be reluctant to take interest in electioneering. The candidates are approaching the people busy in wheat harvesting while visiting field-to-field, with the renewed political pledges to serve them.
The wheat harvesting is in full swing in rural areas of Sialkot district's all the four Sialkot, Daska, Sambrial and Pasrur tehsils due to which the traditional electioneering has not yet picked up in rural parts. When contacted, PPP stalwart Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan, candidate NA-111, said that it was the right of the rural areas' people to harvest wheat. Now, it was the right time for all the candidates to go to their voters and supporters, who are busy in wheat harvesting, she said.
She went to the several fields falling in her constituency and sought their full support and votes. Some farmers including Allah Rakha, Bashir Hussain, Muhammad Iqbal, Ghulam Rasul, Mian Muhammad Iqbal, Sakeena Bibi, Rasheeda Bibi, Rasul Bibi, Mai Jeewaan and Parveen Bibi found busy in wheat harvesting in the fields in far-off bordering villages of Bajwat, Koobay Chak, Saidpur, Gondal and Phookaliyaan in outskirts of Sialkot.
They said that the government had chosen the wrong time for holding general elections as it is the time of wheat harvesting and most of the  farmers and growers are busy in wheat harvesting. They added that the government did not think for the farmers and growers and announced to hold the 2013 general elections in wrong time. "Our wheat yield is everything for us, which gives us food for the whole of the year," they noted.
