Pakistan's permanent representatives to the United Nations‚ Masood Khan has said that Pakistan has all along played a constructive role at the world body and its election 2 years ago for the 7th time to Security Council is a testimony to the fact.
Talking to a 20-member delegation from the National Defence University‚ Islamabad‚ currently on a study tour to New York‚ he said Pakistan's membership of the 15-member Council‚ was an acknowledgement by the international community of its contribution to the maintenance of international peace and security.
The ambassador said Pakistan was one of the largest troop contributors to the UN Peacekeeping operations around the world.
