Senior journalist, Hamid Mir attacked in Karachi

Senior Journalist, Hamid Mir has been attacked in Karachi. His car was fired at near the Natha Khan bridge near the airport, while traveling from the airport to his office. The attackers had been following Mir for quite some time, and continued to follow him after the attack. Mir telephoned his staff and confirmed that he has been shot. He has sustained three bullet injuries, including one in his stomach and leg. He was shifted to a hospital nearby. The attackers were on motorcycles and cars. A five member team of doctors is treating him and have confirmed he is out of danger. This is the second attack on Mir, who has been issued threats by different groups of Taliban. The recipient of Hilal-e-Imtiaz and other journalistic honors, Mir’s journalistic career spans for over more than two decades.
