HAFIZABAD
The Punjab government was committed to promoting education in the province, said Parliamentary Secretary Asadullah Arain.
Addressing a ceremony in Government Higher Secondary School Jalalpur Bhattian, he said that more than Rs55 billion were being spent to establish new educational institutions, upgrading of the educational institutions and provision of missing facilities in the schools and colleges to ensure healthcare and educational facilities to the people at local level during current fiscal year.
He said that special drive was continuing in the province to ensure 100 percent enrolment of children in the schools under Universal Primary Enrolment campaign. He called upon parents to get enroll their children in the schools to brighten their future as well as to make them useful citizens of the country. He urged the teachers to perform their duties with missionary zeal and focus on character building of the students. PROJECTS: Punjab government has accorded approval of launching 6 new development schemes with the cost of Rs3502.556 million in the district Hafizabad, said Additional District Collector Hafizabad, Nauman Hafeez.
He said that Chief Minister has accorded these schemes on the request of State Minister Health Saira Afzal Tarar.
He said that construction of one-way road from Jinnah Chowk to Ghorra Chowk in Hafizabad, widening and rehabilitation of Khanqah Dogran Road, widening of AliPur Road, rehabilitation of Hafizabad to Kolo Tarar Road, widening of Hafizabad-Vanike Tarar road and establishment of new academic block in Government College for boys Hafizabad are also included in the approved schemes.
