KP Opp parties discuss situation today

PESHAWAR - In order to discuss the emerging situation after PTI’s resignation from national and provincial assemblies except Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where it governs, opposition parties in the provincial assembly are likely to meet today to draw their future line of action particularly to block KPK assembly’s dissolution.
Sources told The Nation said that the parliamentary leaders of the main opposition parties in KPK Assembly including JUI-F, PML-N, QWP, ANP and PPP are in contact with each other since sensing the situation that PTI may opt for assembly’s dissolution.
Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) and Awami Jamhoori Ittehad (AJI), the coalition partners of the PTI in the provincial government, have decided to oppose any attempt to dissolve the KP Assembly, the sources said adding that the JI and AJI have finalized a joint strategy to deal with the situation.
In such developments, opposition parties in KP Assembly may meet today in the assembly’s chamber to discuss the emerging political situation.
It has also been learnt that PML-N may table ‘a motion of no confidence’ against Chief Minister Pervez Khattak.
Meanwhile, opposition leader from JUI-F Lutfur Rehman has criticized the expected move to dissolve the KP assembly.
The opposition parties in KP Assembly term the dissolution option of the KP Assembly as an unconstitutional move.
