OUR STAFF REPORTER SHERGARH - The police have registered a case against four men under section 489-F of the Pakistan Penal Code for fraudulently issuing a bogus cheque of Rs1.3 million to a man here the other day. Tariq Mehmood s/o Shaukat Ali, a resident of Bunga Sodhiwala, told the police that he was a farmer and used to sell his crops to the accused Bashir and his sons Muhammad Ayub, Faqeer Muhammad and Sadi Ahmad who worked jointly as commission agents. About a month ago, the four accused purchased 925 maunds of paddy from him and gave a cheque of Rs1300080 of Ayubs account at the National Bank branch of Hujra Shah Muqeem for payment of the paddy in the presence of two witnesees Jafar s/o Qasim Ali and Haji Zulfiqar s/o Zain Khan fro 02-12-2011. When he went to the NBPs Shergarh branch with the cheque to transfer money in his own account, the cheque was bounced by the bank concerned for insufficient amount in the account. He then went to the accused along with the witnesses and demanded his money but they accused refused to pay the money.
